Event Location & Directions

The Learning Ideas Conference 2027 will be held online and in New York, at Columbia University’s Faculty House on 116th street between Morningside Drive and Amsterdam Avenue.

 
 

Directions

The gate at 64 Morningside Drive, the published address of Faculty House, is not accessible for entry. Instead, enter through the Security Entrance, located near 501 W. 116th St. You can find the exact location on Google Maps here.

By Car or Taxi:

  • Drop-off point: Drive or have your taxi take you directly to 501 W. 116th St., which is the Security Entrance for Faculty House.

By Public Transportation (Subway & Bus):

  • Subway: Take the “1” train to the 116th Street stop.

    • Note: the “2” or “3” lines do not stop at this station (116th St–Columbia University).

  • Bus:

    • Four bus lines serve the Columbia/Morningside Heights area:

      • M4 – Travels along Madison Avenue and Broadway, with stops near Columbia University (closest stop: Broadway/West 116th St).

      • M104 – Follows Broadway, making stops near the university (closest stop: Broadway/West 116th St).

      • M5 – Runs along Riverside Drive and Broadway, providing access to the campus (closest stop: Riverside Dr/W 116th St).

      • M11 – Operates along Amsterdam Avenue, with stops close to Columbia University (closest stop: Amsterdam Avenue & West 116 Street).

Getting to Faculty House Security Entrance
(from the 116th St & Broadway Subway and Bus Stops):

  • 114th Street Route:

    • Exit the station onto Broadway and walk down to 114th St.

    • Turn left and walk 1 block east along 114th St. to Amsterdam Ave.

    • Turn left onto Amsterdam Ave. and walk 2 blocks north up to 116th St.

    • Turn right and walk a ½ block east on W 116th St. to reach the security entrance of Faculty House on your left.

  • Internal Columbia University Route:

    • Exit the station onto Broadway.

    • Enter Columbia University on 116th St. and walk straight through the campus through the exit on Amsterdam Ave.

      • Note: Your QR code is needed to enter campus grounds.

    • Continue walking a half block east on W. 116th St. to reach the security entrance of Faculty House on your left.

Entering the Faculty House Building

  • Show your QR code and ID to the guards at the security entrance.

  • Once they confirm your identity, walk straight toward the end of the courtyard and make a right.

  • Continue walking straight past the ramp until you see the Faculty House entrance on the right.

  • Go up to the third floor of Faculty House and check in with our team.

 

Getting Around New York

New York City is a very walkable city. Taxis, Ubers, and Lyfts are readily available.
