To assist with your travel planning, we’ve provided details on local accommodations, on-campus housing, and transportation options to our conference.
Three hotels have been made available for conference participants at discounted rates and dormitory options may also be available directly through Columbia University; more information regarding the dormitory option will be available in the spring of 2026. Details about hotels and our discounted rates are provided below, along with a link to Columbia’s Conference Housing site for the most up-to-date dormitory information.

Standard 1 Full Bedrooms: $269 per night.
Deluxe 1 Queen Bedrooms: $299 per night.
Deluxe 1 King Bed rooms: $315 per night.
These rates are available until all discounted rooms have been booked or until May 18th, 2026, whichever comes earlier. Reservations are subject to a 3-day cancellation clause. Rates on earlier or later days may be slightly higher.

Dormitory Information
Dormitory rooms are expected to be available through the Summer Conference Housing Office at Teachers College at Columbia University.

Travel Information
Our conference is easily accessible by air, train, and local transportation. Below you’ll find helpful details on airports, transit, taxis, and other travel options to make your arrival smooth and convenient.
Airports
Columbia University is served by three major airports in the New York City area:
John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)
LaGuardia Airport (LGA)
Travel times vary based on traffic and time of day.
Airport Travel & Transit
Taxi
The average one-way taxi fare to Columbia University or nearby hotels, including tolls, is approximately:
$95 from JFK or Newark (plus tip and tolls)
$85 from LaGuardia (plus tip and tolls)
Taxis within NYC, covering those from both JFK and LaGuardia Airports, are now required to take credit cards.
If you take a taxi from the airport, please use an authorized taxi from a taxi stand at the airport.
Car services & Rideshares:
Uber, Lyft, and other providers are widely available at all airports and throughout the city.
Pickup areas are clearly marked at each terminal.
Public Transportation (to Columbia University)
If you’re arriving by train, Amtrak, NJ Transit, and Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) services arrive at New York Penn Station. From there, take the 1 subway line uptown to 116th Street – Columbia University.
From JFK: Take the AirTrain JFK to Howard Beach or Jamaica Station, then connect to the A or E subway lines and transfer to the 1 train uptown to 116th Street – Columbia University.
From Newark: Take the AirTrain Newark to New York Penn Station, then transfer to the 1 train uptown to 116th Street – Columbia University.
From LaGuardia: Take the M60 Select Bus Service (SBS) directly to 116th Street and Broadway.
